Official Skunkworks Academy terms for access to the Power Platform Maker Environment, covering approved use, intellectual property, data governance, security controls, monitoring, logging and user accountability.

Consent notice: By accessing or using the Skunkworks Academy Power Platform Maker Environment, users confirm that they have read, understood and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Skunkworks Academy Power Platform Maker Environment, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Continued use indicates acceptance of all updates, governance policies and operational requirements applicable to the environment.

2. Purpose of Use

This environment is provided exclusively for academy-approved activities, including:

  • Skunkworks Academy training programs.
  • CIV-Defense, QAFS, FEM/CIV instructional modules.
  • Operational workflow engineering.
  • Maker development, app creation, automation and solution deployment.

Any use outside academy-approved activities is prohibited unless expressly authorized by Skunkworks Academy administrators.

3. Intellectual Property

All apps, flows, components, Dataverse tables, connection references, environment variables, solutions, documentation and related digital assets created within this environment:

  • Are the property of Skunkworks Academy unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
  • May be reviewed, modified, exported, disabled, archived or removed by authorized administrators.
  • Must follow academy development standards, naming conventions, security controls and governance rules.

Users may not claim personal ownership of academy-built digital assets or reuse them outside approved Skunkworks Academy activities without written authorization.

4. Data Governance & Privacy

You agree to handle data responsibly and in line with applicable governance, privacy and compliance obligations. Users must:

  • Store only approved data within the environment.
  • Respect Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and connector restrictions.
  • Avoid uploading sensitive personal information unless expressly authorized.
  • Follow applicable regional compliance requirements, including South Africa POPIA and relevant Qatar data protection requirements where applicable.
  • Use approved storage, Dataverse, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and connector locations only where permitted by policy.

All activity may be logged for security, compliance, auditability and operational integrity.

5. Security Requirements

Users must apply secure development and operational practices throughout the maker lifecycle. Users are required to:

  • Follow role-based access controls and least-privilege access principles.
  • Build only within managed or administrator-approved solutions where required.
  • Maintain secure development practices for apps, flows, connectors, credentials and shared resources.
  • Protect secrets, tokens, keys, credentials and connection references from unauthorized exposure.
  • Report suspicious activity, unauthorized access, data exposure or suspected compromise immediately.

Violations may result in suspension, permanent removal of access, administrative remediation or additional corrective action.

6. Monitoring & Logging

Skunkworks Academy may monitor and review environment activity, including:

  • App creation, modification, sharing and deletion.
  • Flow execution, trigger activity, failure events and connector usage.
  • Data access, Dataverse table activity and solution deployment.
  • Environment usage patterns, administrative events and governance exceptions.

Monitoring is performed to support security, compliance, operational quality, service continuity and governance assurance.

7. Liability

Skunkworks Academy is not responsible for losses, failures, delays, inaccuracies or operational impact caused by user actions outside approved procedures. This includes:

  • Data loss caused by user actions.
  • Misconfigured apps, flows, connectors, roles or environments.
  • Unauthorized sharing of content, data, links, applications or workflows.
  • Maker-created errors impacting training, operations, reporting or workflow execution.

Users are expected to use the environment responsibly, test changes appropriately and follow published governance requirements.

8. Updates to Terms

These Terms & Conditions may be updated at any time to reflect operational, security, compliance, platform or governance changes. Users will be notified through academy communication channels where appropriate. Continued use of the environment confirms acceptance of updated terms.
